A Fun Little UX Metrics Game We Built

Happy holidays, everyone!

We built a small game called Signal Blitz as a fun way to say thanks for an amazing year. This Glare community and the authors who contribute here have helped reach hundreds of thousands of readers, and we really appreciate the energy, ideas, and conversations.

Signal Blitz is a quick UX game that puts you in the user’s seat. Turns out design instincts are fast, confident, or wildly optimistic once the timer starts.

Here’s how it works:

• You see a website screenshot
• You get one clear directive
• You click where you’d go
• The clock is running

:pushpin: Play it here:

The game tracks two UX metrics:

  • Success: how close your click is to the intended answer
  • Time on task: how long it takes you to decide and act

Your score blends both, surfacing hesitation, confusion, and pure instinct in a surprisingly honest way.

Have fun with it, and thanks again for being part of this community!

Ben, I’m a Speed Stalker today. My 3 digit handle is a mystery.
