haha, professionally is a stretch BUT there I was, just a spring chicken, working as the front desk girl at the nail salon. And somedays, when I switched shifts with this particular co worker of mine, the transaction numbers on the computer and the money in the till were totally off.
The only data points that mattered to my boss at that time (money in and money out) …. a big lesson in the importance of accuracy, honesty, and accountability. If you’re picking up what I’m putting down.

My first meaningful point of engagement with data was actually through seeing google analytics highlighting drop off for a 10 step sign-up flow, where PayPal was the blocker.
Also, lots and lots of performance metrics have helped debug where problems are.

I think when we got an Apple IIGS in the 80’s. It turned the experience of manipulating blocks from visual basic with code into a 640x480 grid of data points that could create amazing art.
You had only one undo and used a fixed color palette you created. I would spend hours manipulating pixels, trying to figure out how these artists did this work. While it was a type of art, it felt like manipulating pixels to do what you wanted.

Is the mummy a reference to the work or the fact that you were leveraging that dinosaur machine? 
Jokes jokes. It truly is soooo wild how quickly the technology has progressed & how things continue to speed up without a break.

On the one hand, extremely limiting. On the other hand (coming from a brush, palette, and color theory) incredibly powerful.

My stakeholder (@Bryan ) highlighted a problem and I was able to pull out the events that the product consisted of within the registration flow.
