Start your redesign the smart way: with a baseline measurement 📐

Redesigning your homepage is exciting, but also risky. It’s often the first thing people see, and small changes to layout, copy, or CTAs can have big effects on how your brand is perceived.

That’s why we created a new Homepage Redesign Concept Page, showing how to test a marketing homepage using a design stack of UX metrics that go beyond bounce rate.

To bring it to life, we tested Plaid’s homepage to establish a baseline of how their site is performing now before a redesign. Here’s how it scored:

While the page looked great and the core message came through clearly, it didn’t spark much engagement or loyalty. These are key signals that the design might not be converting interest into intent.

This Concept Page walks through the test and how you can apply a similar metric stack to your own homepage before or after a redesign: https://glare.helio.app/measure/concepts/marketing/homepage-redesign

:speech_balloon: What kind of homepages would you want to see tested next?
B2B SaaS? Consumer marketplaces? Nonprofits?
We’re lining up the next round and would love your input :backhand_index_pointing_down:

It’s a pretty profound thing to start with a baseline understanding of your current design. It begins to frame areas for improvement, and presents hunches and opportunities for how to improve it on the next round of testing.

I feel like a lot of teams want to start with the new shiny ideas, when in reality a redesign should start with what you already know about the old stuff.
