We just launched another Concept Page, this time focused on Account Management.
These are the pages where users go to get things done: manage campaigns, update settings, review activity — all the stuff that keeps the product running. And when they don’t work smoothly, it slows everything (and everyone) down.
To put this into practice, we tested a Campaign Management page from an ad platform to see how real users handled it. Here’s how it scored using a design stack of 3 key UX metrics:
Not bad on clarity… but the ability to take action? Not great.
Most users couldn’t successfully complete the key tasks without friction, even if they understood what the page was for.
The goal of this Concept page is to show how testing your account-level experiences can reveal where users get stuck and why.
Your turn — what’s the trickiest part of your own account flows to test?
Is it knowing what to measure, choosing the right tasks, or something else entirely?
@EricZ I’ve been thinking these source links could use some more design love on our Glare pages! Maybe a specific card, callout, or something to emphasize where the raw data lives for each of our design concepts.
What I like about this is that it highlights the operational cost of poor account design. When users can’t self-serve, support queues grow, etc… teams start firefighting instead of improving. Testing these flows is basically preventative maintenance, which is such a win win. Cool stuff guys!
